About Pam
For those of you who don't really know me my story began about 9 years ago when I started in the markets at Old Petrie Town on a small stall with a friend of mine. I was lucky enough then to get a room in a cottage and called my business Pam and Cathy's
Crafts.
About 6 months later of course I outgrew the room and verandah (as I've become accustomed to doing) and was offered a room in The Old School House. This was fantastic and when my business really started to take of. This is also when I decided to change my name to what it is today.
Pams Affordable Gifts.
I was at the market for about 6 years. I worked full time all week and couldn't wait for the weekend to do what I loved most. Eventually after suffering a lot of injuries from my work I couldn't really cope with the stress on my poor old limbs so decided it was time to give it my best shot and open a store full time.
This is when we fell in love with Redcliffe and opened my 1st shop in Cominos Arcade in July 2012.
Two years later an opportunity came up to move into a bigger shop(or so I thought it was bigger). After we moved in I realized it wasn't much bigger than were I had been but what is done is done. A few months later the shop next door moved out and I started thinking WHAT IF I KNOCKED OUT THE WALL. That would be awesome. So I boldly asked the real estate who of course said YES. This was a great choice and my customers were very excited but started to wonder how big I was going to get.
Well here we are another 2 years on and I found out the shop I originally looked at had become available. I got really excited but also thought to myself Can I do this. Well yes of course I can. I had the new shop signed sealed and delivered before you could take a breath. It took 6 long days and nights to move me back up the hill but oh it was worth it. I am so happy and content now. The shop is beautiful. I have lots of room and the expressions on my customers faces when they walk in the door is priceless.
All I can say to anyone out there who has a dream is GO FOR IT. I did. Dreams do come true but it takes a lot of dedication and hardwork.
Thank you to everyone and I will keep working hard as long as you all keep supporting me.
